The Coureurs category is the ranked race inside it, a Golden Trail World Series round, and it is meant for an estimated finish time under 4:30.",{"de":219,"en":220},"Der Start liegt historisch im Bois de Finges bei Sierre auf rund 570 Metern; wegen der A9-Baustelle ist der genaue Startpunkt für 2027 noch nicht festgelegt. The historic start is in the Bois de Finges near Sierre at about 570 metres; because of the A9 motorway works the exact 2027 start point is not yet settled. After a short opening on road and track the route goes via Niouc - the only variant Coureurs may use - into the main climb, and that is the hardest section of the day: by the Ponchette aid station at kilometre 7.5 roughly 1,300 of the 2,200 metres of ascent are done, in places at twenty per cent and steeper.\n\nFrom there the gradient eases, through Chandolin at kilometre 12 and Tignousa at kilometre 16, then a further 200 metres up to the Hotel Weisshorn at kilometre 20, around 2,337 metres. The high point of just over 2,400 metres comes shortly after, followed by the rolling balcony traverse via Nava at kilometre 24 (water only) and Barneuza at kilometre 27. Of the 1,100 metres of descent about 500 fall in the last four kilometres down to Zinal at 1,680 metres, and this final descent is the one place on the course where cutting between two points of the route is allowed.\n\nThe balcony trail is where the subtitle la Course des Cinq 4000 comes from: Weisshorn (4,506 m), Zinalrothorn (4,221 m), Obergabelhorn (4,073 m), Matterhorn (4,478 m) and Dent Blanche (4,357 m) stand above the Val d'Anniviers. The surface is mountain trail throughout, waymarked with yellow Zs; poles and headphones are banned over the whole course. A large part of the route sits above 2,000 metres, which the regulations flag explicitly, together with the advice to match clothing to the weather and the risk.",{"de":222,"en":223},"Das Rennen ist netto ein Bergauflauf mit Zielabfahrt, und die Kräfteverteilung entscheidet sich in der ersten Stunde. This is a net uphill race that finishes downhill, and the way effort is allocated is decided in the first hour. The seven and a half kilometres to Ponchette take more than half of the whole ascent, roughly 1,300 metres; run them at your limit and you will still get to the top, but with nothing left for the long middle section. The category choice is not a formality either: cut-offs are fixed clock times, and anyone genuinely well over 4:30 runs into a barrier at the Hotel Weisshorn that stood open hours earlier for the Touristes.\n\nThe race-deciding stretch is between Tignousa (km 16) and the high point just past the Hotel Weisshorn (km 20). After some easier kilometres the trail climbs a further 200 metres, above 2,300 metres and with two thirds of the race already in the legs. Keep running evenly here and you gain more time on the balcony traverse and the descent than anywhere else on the course.\n\nThe main trap is the change in the kind of load at the end: after more than two hours almost entirely uphill, the drop into Zinal demands eccentric strength that has been idle all day. The start time compounds it - Coureurs set off late in the morning and take the main climb into the midday heat, while the organiser limits water at the first two aid stations, Beauregard and Ponchette, for logistical reasons.",{"de":225,"en":226},"Die Kategorie ist auf unter 4:30 Stunden ausgelegt; die Weltspitze läuft um 2:25 bis 2:30 (Streckenrekorde Kilian Jornet 2:25:34 und Maude Mathys 2:49:20), ambitionierte Amateure liegen zwischen 3:15 und 4:30. The category is built for finishes under 4:30; the world's best run around 2:25 to 2:30 (course records Kilian Jornet 2:25:34 and Maude Mathys 2:49:20), while ambitious amateurs land between 3:15 and 4:30. The demand splits in two: two to four hours of steady, high aerobic climbing, then a fast descent on technical trail under full fatigue.\n\nThe core of the build is long climbing without poles, because poles are banned in the race and all the vertical has to come from legs and trunk. Blocks of 1,000 to 1,500 metres of ascent in one go just under threshold work well, plus steep ramps around twenty per cent where you deliberately alternate fast hiking and running - exactly the mixture the opening to Ponchette asks for.\n\nThe second emphasis is descending, and descending tired. A 1,000 metre climb followed straight away by a committed descent on technical mountain trail rehearses the order the race imposes, and eccentric strength work for quads and calves decides whether the last four kilometres into Zinal are still run or merely survived.\n\nConditions belong in the plan as much as the volume does. A large part of the course sits above 2,000 metres with a high point near 2,400, and the start falls into the late-morning heat of a Valais August day. Heat adaptation in the final weeks, some sessions or days at altitude if you can get them, and a rehearsed drinking and gel plan for seven aid stations - the first two of which carry only limited water - separate a controlled race from an improvised one.",{"raceName":228,"kind":17,"hasTrack":18,"composedLegs":19,"startDate":20,"leg":19,"legGroup":19,"distanceInMeters":21,"elevationGainInMeters":22,"format":23,"profile":229,"intro":281,"description":284,"pacing":287,"training":290},"Touristes",{"classification":25,"routeShape":26,"totalAscentM":27,"totalDescentM":28,"netElevationM":29,"vertPerKm":30,"climbs":230,"remainingVertM":91,"gradientDistribution":239,"downsampledProfile":240,"trackPolyline":214},[231,232,233,234,235,236,237,238],{"startKm":33,"lengthKm":34,"avgGradientPct":35,"maxGradientPct":36,"elevGainM":37,"score":38,"category":39},{"startKm":41,"lengthKm":42,"avgGradientPct":43,"maxGradientPct":44,"elevGainM":45,"score":46,"category":47},{"startKm":49,"lengthKm":50,"avgGradientPct":51,"maxGradientPct":52,"elevGainM":53,"score":54,"category":47},{"startKm":56,"lengthKm":57,"avgGradientPct":58,"maxGradientPct":59,"elevGainM":60,"score":61,"category":19},{"startKm":63,"lengthKm":64,"avgGradientPct":65,"maxGradientPct":66,"elevGainM":67,"score":68,"category":47},{"startKm":70,"lengthKm":71,"avgGradientPct":72,"maxGradientPct":73,"elevGainM":74,"score":75,"category":19},{"startKm":77,"lengthKm":78,"avgGradientPct":79,"maxGradientPct":80,"elevGainM":81,"score":82,"category":83},{"startKm":85,"lengthKm":86,"avgGradientPct":87,"maxGradientPct":88,"elevGainM":89,"score":90,"category":19},{"flatPct":93,"upPct":94,"downPct":95,"steepUpPct":96,"steepDownPct":97},[241,242,243,244,245,246,247,248,249,250,251,252,253,254,255,256,257,258,259,260,261,262,263,264,265,266,267,268,269,270,271,272,273,274,275,276,277,278,279,280],{"km":33,"elevM":100},{"km":102,"elevM":103},{"km":105,"elevM":106},{"km":108,"elevM":109},{"km":111,"elevM":112},{"km":114,"elevM":115},{"km":117,"elevM":118},{"km":120,"elevM":121},{"km":123,"elevM":124},{"km":126,"elevM":127},{"km":43,"elevM":129},{"km":131,"elevM":132},{"km":134,"elevM":135},{"km":51,"elevM":137},{"km":139,"elevM":140},{"km":142,"elevM":143},{"km":145,"elevM":146},{"km":148,"elevM":149},{"km":151,"elevM":152},{"km":154,"elevM":155},{"km":157,"elevM":158},{"km":160,"elevM":158},{"km":162,"elevM":163},{"km":165,"elevM":166},{"km":168,"elevM":169},{"km":171,"elevM":172},{"km":174,"elevM":175},{"km":177,"elevM":178},{"km":180,"elevM":181},{"km":183,"elevM":178},{"km":185,"elevM":186},{"km":188,"elevM":189},{"km":191,"elevM":192},{"km":194,"elevM":195},{"km":197,"elevM":198},{"km":200,"elevM":201},{"km":203,"elevM":204},{"km":206,"elevM":207},{"km":209,"elevM":210},{"km":212,"elevM":213},{"de":282,"en":283},"Die Kategorie Touristes ist die Idee, mit der Sierre-Zinal 1974 antrat: dieselben 31 Kilometer und 2.200 Höhenmeter wie die Weltspitze, aber ohne Rangliste und mit Startzeiten ab 04:45 Uhr. The start goes off in six blocks between 04:45 and 06:15, historically in the Bois de Finges near Sierre at about 570 metres; because of the A9 motorway works the exact 2027 start point is not yet settled. The early blocks run in the dark, a headtorch is recommended, and there is no lamp drop-back service - you hand it to family once it is light or carry it all the way. Touristes are the only ones who may choose between the two opening variants, via Niouc or via the Chapelle Saint-Antoine; both feed into the same climb.\n\nFrom there the route is identical to the Coureurs' course. By Ponchette at kilometre 7.5 roughly 1,300 of the 2,200 metres of ascent are behind you, and for most starters the sun comes up somewhere in that section. Through Chandolin (km 12) and Tignousa (km 16) the trail climbs on to the Hotel Weisshorn (km 20) at about 2,337 metres, tops out just after at a little over 2,400, then rolls along the balcony traverse via Nava (km 24, water only) and Barneuza (km 27) before the last four kilometres drop some 500 metres into Zinal at 1,680 metres.\n\nThat balcony trail is where the subtitle la Course des Cinq 4000 comes from: Weisshorn (4,506 m), Zinalrothorn (4,221 m), Obergabelhorn (4,073 m), Matterhorn (4,478 m) and Dent Blanche (4,357 m) stand above the valley, and six hours on the course leaves time to actually look at them. Founder Jean-Claude Pont designed the category for exactly that - to be inside the same race as the elite and a spectator at the same time. The field is correspondingly large: 3,803 Touristes started in 2026, the cap is 4,000, and the minimum age is ten. The surface is mountain trail throughout, waymarked with yellow Zs, and poles and headphones are both banned.",{"de":288,"en":289},"Touristes teilen sich einen langen Tag ein, kein Rennen. Die Blockzuteilung ist verbindlich, ein eigenmächtiger Wechsel führt zur Disqualifikation.","Touristes pace a long day, not a race. The opening climb belongs clearly under threshold: 1,300 metres of ascent in seven and a half kilometres, and following the group in the dark instead of your own breathing is paid for from Chandolin onwards. On the steepest ramps brisk hiking is the more efficient choice, all the more so because poles are banned.\n\nThe day is decided in the long middle section between Chandolin (km 12) and the Hotel Weisshorn (km 20). It looks harmless on the profile but sits continuously above 2,000 metres, has almost no shade, and falls into exactly the hours when the August sun is already high. The cut-offs sit there too - Chandolin 10:40:59, Tignousa 12:00:59, Hotel Weisshorn 13:30:59 on the 2026 schedule - and because they are fixed clock times, block 1 has an hour and a half more to reach them than block 6.\n\nThe trap waits at the end: after five to seven hours almost entirely uphill comes a 500 metre descent on mountain trail for which the quads have nothing left, and that is the most common reason the final hour turns out slower than planned. The second trap comes before the start. If your honest estimate is under 4:30, you belong in the Coureurs. Block allocation is made by the timekeeper and is binding; changing block on your own initiative means disqualification.",{"de":291,"en":292},"Für Touristes ist Sierre-Zinal ein Fünf- bis Achtstundentag, der späteste Zieleinlauf ist auf 17:30:59 Uhr festgesetzt. For Touristes, Sierre-Zinal is a five to eight hour day, with the final finish time set at 17:30:59. The demand is low in intensity and very long: three to six hours of steady climbing in the aerobic base range, followed by a descent limited not by endurance but by muscle.\n\nThe single most important training content is therefore time on the feet on steep ground. Long sessions of three to five hours covering 1,000 to 1,500 metres of ascent, deliberately alternating running and brisk hiking, form the base - and since poles are banned in the race, train without them so that calves and trunk know the climbing technique that 2,200 metres in one go demands.\n\nThe descent needs preparation of its own. Train only uphill and the four kilometres into Zinal become delayed onset soreness in real time. Repeated descents on technical ground at the end of a long session, plus eccentric strength work for the quads, are the most effective protection, together with sure footing on loose, stony trail.\n\nConditions are a chapter of their own in this category. The day starts in the dark, running trail by headtorch is a skill worth rehearsing, a large part of the course sits above 2,000 metres, and the final hours are run in full August sun. Add a breakfast at three in the morning and a fuelling plan spanning many hours: seven aid stations, of which Nava carries water only and the first two carry limited quantities. One or two long training sessions started before sunrise rehearse the night start, the breakfast timing and the drinking rhythm in a single go.",[294],{"eventName":6,"eventDate":9,"eventHomepageUrl":11},[296,304,313,320,328,337],{"slug":297,"eventName":298,"proseName":299,"city":300,"country":8,"eventType":13,"eventDate":301,"distanceInMeters":302,"elevationGainInMeters":303,"classification":25},"course-de-noel-sion","Course de Noël et Trail des Châteaux",{"de":298,"en":298},"Sion","2026-12-12T00:00:00.000Z",32000,1702,{"slug":305,"eventName":306,"proseName":307,"city":309,"country":8,"eventType":13,"eventDate":310,"distanceInMeters":311,"elevationGainInMeters":312,"classification":25},"jungfrau-marathon","Jungfrau-Marathon",{"de":306,"en":308},"Jungfrau Marathon","Interlaken","2026-09-05T00:00:00.000Z",42195,1953,{"slug":314,"eventName":315,"proseName":316,"city":317,"country":8,"eventType":13,"eventDate":310,"distanceInMeters":318,"elevationGainInMeters":319,"classification":25},"collontrek","Collontrek",{"de":315,"en":315},"Arolla",22000,1640,{"slug":321,"eventName":322,"proseName":323,"city":324,"country":8,"eventType":13,"eventDate":325,"distanceInMeters":326,"elevationGainInMeters":327,"classification":25},"mattmark-memorial","Mattmark Memorial 1965",{"de":322,"en":322},"Saas-Grund","2026-09-12T00:00:00.000Z",45400,3109,{"slug":329,"eventName":330,"proseName":331,"city":333,"country":8,"eventType":13,"eventDate":334,"distanceInMeters":335,"elevationGainInMeters":336,"classification":25},"gornergrat-zermatt-marathon","Gornergrat-Zermatt Marathon",{"de":330,"en":332},"Gornergrat Zermatt Marathon","Zermatt","2027-07-03T00:00:00.000Z",45800,2616,{"slug":338,"eventName":339,"proseName":340,"city":343,"country":8,"eventType":13,"eventDate":344,"distanceInMeters":311,"elevationGainInMeters":345,"classification":25},"napf-marathon","37.
