the Top Dolomites Granfondo: Course, Elevation & Route Profile
The Granfondo is the long cycling course of the Top Dolomites in Pinzolo in the Val Rendena: 111 kilometres and, per the organiser, 2,780 metres of climbing, started on Sunday 6 June 2027 at eight on Corso Trento as the finale of the three-day Top Dolomites Outdoor Festival.
Course & Elevation
After a short roll down the valley, the decisive climb of the day starts at kilometre eight: 6.6 kilometres at nearly ten per cent, with ramps up to nineteen per cent, to the Passo Daone, the high point at about 1,290 metres, where the first feed stands at kilometre 14.
A long descent and a rolling section with several short climbs follow to Ca' de Mel at kilometre 39. From there the course drops far south to about 100 metres near Lake Garda; at kilometre 61 the longest climb begins, almost ten kilometres and just over 500 metres up to Tenno (feed at kilometre 66). From kilometre 82 comes the last big climb, over 300 metres in just under five kilometres to the Passo Duron (kilometre 88), before the route returns to the finish in Piazza San Giacomo in Pinzolo.
Pacing Strategy
The Passo Daone comes after only eight kilometres, so ride it as a tempo effort rather than a race, even when the groups break up there. Use the fast second quarter in groups and eat and drink regularly, because after kilometre 60 more than 800 metres of climbing remain. Mind the Fiavè checkpoint: riders arriving after 10:00 are diverted onto the Mediofondo, and the time limit ends at 13:30.
Training plan for the Top Dolomites Granfondo: 12-week build
Build rides of four to five hours with 2,000 metres of climbing or more and train 15 to 25-minute threshold intervals on climbs, to match Daone and Tenno. Practise long descents safely, because the course drops a long way after the Daone and before Lake Garda. In early June the morning can be cool in the Val Rendena and warm by Lake Garda.

Short climbs below the Cat. 4 threshold stay unrated.
